Questions of chapter-3 class 11 Physics

Q.1 An electron is emitted with a velocity of 5×10 to the power 6 m/s. It is accelerated by an electric field in the direction of initial velocity at 3×10 to the power 14 m/s . If its final velocity is 7×10 to the power 6 m/s calculate the distance covered by the electron.

2. A car moving along a straight highway with a speed of 126 km/h is brought to a stop within a distance of 200 m. What is the retardation of the car and how long does it take for the car to stop?      Ans a= -3.06m/s² , t= 11.43s

3. If the distance travelled by a body in time t is given by x= at + bt², then what will be the acceleration of the body? Ans.  a=2b

4. A train travels from one station to another at a speed of 40 km/h and returns to the first station at a speed of 60 km/h. Calculate the average speed and average velocity of the train. Ans. 48km/hr

5. A car starts from rest and accelerates uniformly over a time of 5.21 seconds for a distance of 110 m. Determine the acceleration of the car.    Ans. 8.10m/s²

6. An airplane accelerates down a runway at 3.20 m/s2 for 32.8 s until is finally lifts off the ground. Determine the distance traveled before takeoff.    Ans ~ 1720 m

7. A little bullet leaves a rifle with a muzzle velocity of 521 m/s. While accelerating through the barrel of the rifle, the bullet moves a distance of 0.840 m. Determine the acceleration of the bullet (assume a uniform acceleration).  Ans. 1.62 x10^5 m/s²

8. A race car accelerates uniformly from 18.5 m/s to 46.1 m/s in 2.47 seconds. Determine the acceleration of the car and the distance traveled.  a= 11.17m/s² , S= 79.8m

9. A bike accelerates uniformly from rest to a speed of 7.10 m/s over a distance of 35.4 m. Determine the acceleration of the bike.    Ans. 0.712 m/s²
